A bill to require the Secretary of Agriculture to convey the Pleasant Valley Ranger District Administrative Site to Gila County, Arizona.
The Secretary of Agriculture must transfer approximately 232.9 acres of National Forest System land in the Tonto National Forest to Gila County, Arizona, upon the county's written request. The county must use the land to serve and support veterans, and if the land stops being used for that purpose, ownership reverts to the federal government. The conveyance is made without payment, without warranties or covenants from the Forest Service, and the county must pay all costs associated with the transfer, including surveys, environmental analysis, and compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act. Sponsored by Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ).
